Be Your Labradoodle's Best Friend

Your Labradoodle will be your best buddy and most ardent supporter.  Here is how to treat her right.

Get a license and an ID tag.  No matter how carefully you watch your Labradoodle, he may
get lost.  Quick identification of your dog increases the likelihood of a happy ending to a
potentially tragic situation.  A current photo of your Labradoodle would be helpful, too.  We
microchip all of our dogs and puppies in the event of an escape.

Teach your dog to behave.  Make your Labradoodle a functional, mannered member of the
family.  An untrained dog is a nuisance and a menace.

Give your Labradoodle enough exercise. Different dogs require different levels of activity
and types of exercise.  Dogs need to be walked or let outside several times a day for exercise and
elimination.

Play with your Labradoodle, and provide plenty of toys.  Besides walks, Labradoodles
need one-on-one playtime.  Provide a variety of safe toys for your dog, too,  to help keep her
amused in your absence.

Discourage excessive barking.  One of your Labradoodle's "jobs" is to alert you to
intruders.  Teach you dog what level of response is appropriate for your living situation.  A dog
in an apartment building, for example, cannot bark every time someone walks past the door.

Pick up after your dog.  Whether at the park, on the street, or even in your own yard,
dispose of your Labradoodle's waste.

Keep your dog on your property or on a leash.  Do not let him wander around to
neighborhood- it is not safe for your Labradoodle or considerate to your community.  In some
areas, it is illegal.

Supervise dogs and children at all times.  No matter how "good" your Labradoodle is,
you can not anticipate her every response.  The same can be said for children, especially kids
who are not familiar with your Labradoodle.

Labradoodles need attention and companionship.  Spend as much time as possible with your pal.
